From the crib, I was regarded as the “singing baby”. However, at the age of 7, doctors advised my mother to take me out of singing and guitar lessons for fear of damaging my vocal cords. The message was, “You cannot and should not sing”. In spite of this, by the age of 11, I was leading the youth in singing the songs of Zion on board the Dan ship while making Aliyah to Israel. By the age of 18, I was chosen from among many contestants to sing the graduation song upon completion of basic training in the Israeli Army. My voice resounded with emotion as I sang acapella in front of hundreds of people “Eli Eli” (My God, My God), the song of Hannah Senesh, a famous Jewish martyr during WW2.

Due to being born almost dead with the umbilical cord around her neck, I suffered from breathlessness and motor coordination problems. This also became an impediment to singing. Nevertheless, singing gushed out of me often, and songs were born without effort. I have sung, accompanied by my guitar, in mental hospitals, maximum-security prisons, conferences, and congregations in many countries.

I receive all my songs as a download from Heaven. The composer is the Creator of the Universe: I am only the recipient. He is the One who saved me, has helped me to break out of all limitations and has made me whole. He has comforted me and turned my mourning into dancing and my grief into singing. His birth name is Yeshua, though many have called Him Jesus; He is and forever will be a Jew. My Prayer is that these songs will bless you and comfort you too. This is a Tribute to Him. I owe Him all my breath.
